DIY Cooking Spray

DIY Cooking Spray

Cooking spray…another thing I can add to my list of things I don’t buy.  I found an easy, effective way to make it on my own!

You’ll need:

  • Spray Bottle
  • 1 cup of oil (whatever type you prefer)
  • 1 Tbsp. of water

Add oil and water to spray bottle…and there it is…cooking spray!

This version costs far less to make and works great.  I don’t know about you, but I love finding out how simple things like this are to make on my own!!

    • I started off by refusing to buy any more Pam, and just using a napkin to spread oil or butter…and then I saw this idea! I have been doing it for a few weeks with great results:)

  1. Great idea. I had a couple of questions: Does the spray nozzle get gunky from the oil? Do you have to clean it out frequently? Does the 1 Tbs of water help with this?

    • I haven’t had my nozzle clog (yet), and my bottle is a cheapo from the dollar store. Yes, I think the water helps with this. Good luck, and hope t works well for you!
