If you’ve walked into Target recently, it can be hard to remember that Easter is NOT about bunnies, baskets, or Peeps. Easter is about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All of these things are SO fun, and can still be a part of our Easter celebration…so long as we remember the real reason for the season!
It is SO important that we help our little ones learn the true meaning of Easter as well!
Here’s a few ideas I found that can be incorporated into our family Easter celebrations…
- Make Resurrection Rolls
- Take the “bunny” out of the basket…give your child a basket filled with things that celebrate their faith or new life!
- Celebrate the new life that comes in the Spring…flowers, baby cow, baby chickens…new life is abundant this time of the year!
- Spend the season reading about the Easter Story…and then have little one’s act it out on Easter morning!
- The “Jelly Bean Prayer”
I wish everyone a beautiful and blessed (and hopefully WARM) Easter! Enjoy your egg hunts, baskets, chocolates…and remember the REAL meaning of the day!
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. John 3:16-17
